Locally born and raised, I’ve been blessed to be in a profession that I am passionate about and has allowed me to stay right here in this beautiful valley and raise a family of my own.

After earning a business degree from Southern Oregon State College, I went directly into real estate for Sherm Heater Inc., Realtors in 1979.  Obtaining my broker’s license in 1984 allowed me to  start managing for my parents on a part time basis. When they eventually retired in 2001, I was well prepared to take over the managing the office on a full time basis.  I have been coached most of the last ten years by Buffini and Company, and achieved Mentor status with their incredibly popular and successful “100 Days to Greatness” program.In 2006 the change in the real estate industry provided to me a means of working directly with customers once again. Rediscovering my passion for the direct contact with buyers and sellers meant finding someone to manage the day to day running of a very successful real estate office. It took three years, but we got our man…in 2009 we hired a terrific principal broker with a proven track record.   I became a part of Team Heater, and along with my brother Russ, am actively enjoyed in the process of serving our database of both buyers and sellers.

My wife, Marianne, and I both enjoy the vast array of activities around the valley, water sports and sneaking away to visit our granddaughter as often as we can.

I have lived in the Rogue Valley my entire life, and believe with all my heart that that this is the one of the finest places on earth to live.

I want to take a little space here to detail the commitment we've made to the real estate market here in Grants Pass & Southern Oregon. Team Heater was created to offer the highest level of service and success to our referred clients and customers. My career has been refined to the point that most of my time is devoted to listing and marketing properties for sale. My brother Kurt is the newest addition to Team Heater in the role of assisting folks looking to purchase. With over thirty years experience, his abilities shine brightest in making complex decisions understandable, allowing his customers to make good decisions. Jody is our "right hand", a licensed broker capable of handling the many details encountered in a busy real estate practice. Ultimately, what you receive is the benefit of a group of professionals committed to serving the needs of our customers. 

 Our marketing is directed to the top producing agents in Grants Pass, Medford, and rural areas of Southern Oregon. We've developed close relationships with the agents that are doing the majority of the business in the industry. In so doing, we've found that the whole process occurs more predictably and seamlessly that if we rely on happenstance to bring realtors and their buyers our way. We still do most of the things that other agents do to promote properties, we simply identified what works best and stay focused, insuring that we are able to assure a higher level of success than most.

Most Realtors spend the bulk of their time and budgets prospecting for new business: blanket mailings, door knocking, cold calling, open houses and more. Because I work by referral, I don't do those things.

Instead, I devote myself and all my energy to serving the specific needs of my clients before, during, and after each transaction.
